A cheeky identity for a playful pub in Bangalore
ABOUT THE CLIENT
Hip and playful, Suzy Q is a new Bangalore pub; its identity is a fun mark reminiscent of 40’s pin-up art, comics and cheeky mascots.
ROLE
G.A.S. was approached by Suzy Q to create a mascot for an indentity.
A modern spin on the classic pin up.
The restaurant is a lively space, fondly called “Suzy’s” - We put a face to the character’s name in the identity - a likeable, cheeky girl who loves a good gossip.
Identity
Suzy Q had approached us with the thought of creating a mascot. Over a couple of options our interpretation of one worked its way into the logo itself with the possibility of making Suzy a full fledged character later. The ‘Q’ was made into an Icon that featured Suzy’s face inspired by classic pin-up illustration.
Typographgy
Our inspiration for Suzy Q’s logoform and wordmark came from classic american chain restaurants that came up during the 50’s - 70’s such as Ruby Tuesday or KFC that used custom display typefaces that were more illustrative and iconic to the brands they have become.
